The beautiful beach of Staousa is hidden by the settlement of Kalo Nero on the south east coast of Crete.
Staousa Beach features a pebbly beach with coarse sand, turquoise waters, sandy sea bed and a cave on the side.
Some "almyrikia" trees offer shade from the scorching sun while the cave remains shady until late afternoon.
During a summer following a rainy winter water drips from the walls of the cave.
Many birds have nests in crevices on the ceiling and the sides of the cave.
A concrete path leads down to the beach visited by few people.
